The Day Of The Lord

1 Thessalonians 5:1-10

1.             Vs 1-7: “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. ² For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. ⁴ But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.” 

·          Thank the Lord for His sacrifice of love on the cross that had made us, who were sons of darkness into sons of the light and sons of the Day.

·          Lord – Help me never to forget that You will come suddenly. Keep me awake, alert and sober (i.e. clear-headed, restrained) at all times so that the Day will not overtake me as a thief.

·          Even at night (i.e. in my privacy; or when darkness comes to tempt me to sin; or when distraction comes), let the cross be before me. Holy Spirit, uphold me that I would no sleep, and slip into sin.

·          Have mercy upon me and keep me rooted inside Christ. Do not let the Day of the Lord come upon me and I am not found in Christ.

2.             Vs 8: ^“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” 

Revelation 3:11 – “Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”

Hebrews 2:1 – “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.”

·          Lord - Create Your own urgency in my heart.

·          Help me not to waste Your divine concentration on my life to prepare me for the Day of the Lord. Help me not to waste the day so that I will not miss the Day. Teach me to number my days that I may gain a heart to wisdom – Ps. 90:12.

·          Settle it in my heart that it is only those within whom Christ is living that would not be ashamed on that Day.

·          Help my life; hold me with Your powerful hand that I would not wander outside Your courts.

·          Help me to give more earnest heed to the things we have heard so that I do not drift away. Help me to pay attention to every detail of Your Word for obedience. Do not let me be careless. Do not let me be sluggish because there is too much at stake – Prov. 1:22-33

·          Help me to keep on the breastplate of faith and love, no matter the situation. Keep me fervent regardless of my environment.

·          Help me to keep on the helmet of hope of salvation, no matter the provocation or distraction.

·          Deliver me from distraction and keep me focused.

3.             Vs 9-10:  ^“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.”

·            Thank the Lord that He did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation. He wants us to live together with Christ and He is here to help us succeed.

·            Lord – Please prevail over my heart. Let your purpose to succeed in me quickly because You are coming quickly.

·            Help me to know that the only thing that is needful is to sit down so that You can sit on my life and pour Your life into me.

Grieve Not The Holy Spirit of God

EPHESIANS 4:30-31

“And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.” KJV

“And do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.” NLT

“Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted.” MSG

OUR WORLD TODAY GRIEVES HIM

• Reject Him, think they can live without Him, don’t acknowledge Him.
• Actually act against Him in defiance, live for themselves, disdain Him.
• Hate Him, deliberately live apart and in antagonism against Him.
• Doing all things that are inconvenient, carrying on as if He is not the one that gives them breath, that wakes them up every morning.
• It is He that protects them; that extends their lives and stays the hand of the enemy over   them so they have many chances to respond to Him.
• All manner of sins and atrocities, our generation invents sins, iniquity that generations past do not know.
• His agony, His pain on the cross has been trampled upon by the foot of men.

OUR WORLD TODAY BRINGS HIM SORROW

• Can you not see His grief, can you see His agony?
• His world is a far cry from what He created at Eden.
• His heart is breaking over our generation.
• He looks around for consolation for His soul and finds none.
• His love, His affection, has been thrown back at His face.
• His hand reached out to save has been bitten time and time again.
• His heart is bleeding again over families, over nations, over children, over His men, over His women who have sold themselves to His enemy.
• He is crying, He is weeping again, again, day after day, the Holy Ghost is sorrowing.
• He is looking for more people who will give Him succour from the grief of His world.  

MY LIFE WILL NO LONGER CAUSE HIM GRIEF

I belong to the new race, the race of those who bring you joy.

Therefore Lord, any trace of the Adamic race that grieves you in my life, Holy Spirit please uproot from my life violently.

How can I be causing grief to the Holy Spirit like the world?

• Lord, forbid it in my life that I will continue to grief the Holy Spirit.
• Lord, forbid it that I should continue to quench the Holy Spirit.
• Out of my life, You find succour, out of my life you will find relief.
• Holy Spirit, please find room inside my life to live as you please.
• From today, I will no longer take you for granted.

EXAMPLES OF WHAT GRIEVES HIM

Bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, evil speaking, being mean, bad-temper, quarrelling, harsh words, dislike of others, mad, shout angrily, say things to hurt others, doing evil, passion, shouting, insults, hateful feelings of any sort, cutting, back-biting, profane talk, insensitivity, unforgiveness.

Are there any still in your life?

Present them before the Lord and ask for an evacuation and a replacement with the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• A life yielded to Him will not cause Him grief.
• A life in whom He is the Director and the Controller will not cause Him sorrow.
• Yield your vessel to Him afresh today.
• Make a commitment to yield to Him; to turn the Holy Spirit moment by moment.
• Holy Spirit, please ring Your alarm bell; ring it loudly in my heart, in my spirit, any time I am about to slip into doing anything that will grieve you.
• Please be the umpire for my life, be the referee for my life, blow your whistle, blow it hard and strong any time I am about to engage in any matter that will cause you grief.
• Open the ears of my heart, let me hear your caution clearly, let me hear your restraint clearly and please give me grace to respond.
• Unblock my ears and remove anything that is preventing me from hearing you clearly

God's Declaration to Us

Maranatha - God’s Declaration To Us

Genesis 3:15. "and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

• Our destiny is to be in enmity with the serpent, the devil and his seed and all the product of the devil, sin, sinful habits, dead works, world system etc.

• Every human being is a seed of the woman including our Lord and in the mind of God we are to be at enmity with the serpent, the devil.

• The devil is fulfilling his own part of the bargain and operating on the platform of enmity towards mankind. Majority of human beings are not operating on the platform of enmity against the serpent and against his seed.

What has this got to do with Maranatha?

2 Peter 3:10-12: Knowing all this, what manner of men ought we to be?

Revelations 6 - Signs of the Times

The devil is fulfilling his destiny by deceiving and controlling people with the rider of the white horse. He brings war and bloodshed with the rider of the red horse, he brings famine and economic crunch through the rider of the black horse, and he brings death and hell through the rider of the pale horse.

ü Lord, from today open my eyes of revelation, so that I will see the plans, thoughts and feelings of the devil towards me.

ü  Take away the veil of his deception from my face.

ü  Open my eyes to see and to know that my destiny is to live in enmity with the serpent, enmity that cannot be reconciled with the serpent, with his seed and with all his products.

ü  Lord, please take the veil away from my face, from my heart, expose him to me, let me see his wickedness and hatred for me behind all his disguise, behind all his mask.

ü  Help me to know that all his presents to me are to destroy me.

ü  Don’t let me be taken by his lies, deception anymore.

1 John 2:15-17, James 4:4

The world and the world system is part of the seed of the serpent.

ü  Lord activate the enmity between me and the world. The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life are of the world. Help me hate the world with passion.

ü  The same passion with which the devil hates me, that’s the passion I want to hate him and all his seed and all his products – sin and sinful habits, world system, and wickedness.

ü  Purge me from everything of the world and purge the world completely out of my life, mind, wardrobe, home, relationship, language.

1 John 4:8-10

God is love - He gave us Jesus who is a propitiation for our sin. Unless we enter into the love of God it will be impossible to live in enmity with the serpent and his seed.

ü  Lord, help me to enter into the Love of God

My response to what God gave me:

Matthew 22:36-37 –  "…Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy entire mind. This is the first and great commandment."

1John 4:16-17

God wants us to settle the matter of our allegiance.

ü  God, cause me to dwell in your LOVE (AGAPE LOVE) for God is love.

ü  Establish me inside Christ; establish my heart in Your love; let Your love be established inside me as well because I want to operate within my destiny.

ü  Lord, perfect now Your love in me, so that Your perfect love in me will cast out all forms of fear in my life.

ü  Help me to abide in Jesus; let Jesus abide firmly in me and let me be rooted in love, in Christ, because all fear must be cast out of my life.

Output of the love of God in us:

Hebrews 1:8-9 – The proof that I love God is when I love righteousness and hate iniquity. Your destiny is to hate iniquity. Jesus came and fulfilled that destiny.

ü  Lord, I pray cause me to love righteousness with all the passion of love that you have given to me and with the same passion help me to hate iniquity.

ü  Lord, don’t let me compromise my love for You anymore.

ü  Lord, as you help me to love righteousness help me to transfer Your love in my heart towards my brethren.

Maranatha, come Lord Jesus! We will not be afraid!

In The Latter Times

MARANATHA : 1 Timothy 4: 1 – 16.

Verse 1 – 2:  “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,  giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;….”

ü  Lord, remove the doctrines of devil from the church. Remove the lies that people tell in hypocrisy.
ü  Lord, come purge your church in our generation.

Verse 10 – 12 “But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.  This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.”

ü  Lord, purge the Church from profanity.

ü  Help us to begin to pursue true godliness in the Church.

ü  Return the Church to godliness and sanity again.

ü  Take away profane language and loose tongues from Your Church.

ü Lord, make me an example of believers that heaven will look at and say, “This is an example of a believer in my word, in action, in purity, in faith, in spirit, in conversation. O Lord, make me an example in my teachings.

ü  Let my life be compatible with Your Word.

Vs 13 – 16: “Till I come, give attendance...”

ü  Lord, help me to occupy until You come, taking heed unto my life with boldness.
ü  Help us to take heed to ourselves.

·         Lord, Your body was broken in other to break the power of sin.

·         Lord, in repentance of heart, we remember Your death.

·         Lord, we will be Your chosen ones and will do Your will till kingdom come. This is our commitment to You Lord – Your death on the cross will not be in vain!

The Pale Horse Rider

MARANATHA:  Revelation 6: 7- THE PALE HORSE RIDER

A quarter of human beings during the 7 years tribulation on earth will be killed as stated in the scripture.

·         A quarter of 7 billion = 1 billion, 750million.

·         Thus every year of the 7years, about 250 million people would die

·         In a month about 20.8 million,

·         Per day, about 693 thousand,

·         Per hour, about 29 thousand,

·         Per second, about 8 people would die.

2 Thessalonian 2: 7: For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

ü  Thank God for giving you hope. Thank Him for He is not going to leave you at the mercy seat of death and hell.

The more of Jesus you have, the more of the Holy Spirit you have, the more restraining on evil that you will have.

ü  Lord, I need more of Jesus. I need more of the Spirit of Jesus, I need more of the restraining power of the Holy Ghost in my life, home, children, spouse, brethren and family.

Romans 6: 8, 23.

For some, the physical death of the body will convey them unto glory. Our physical death of the body is a transition to go and be with Jesus forever & ever.

Vs 23: For the majority, death is a passport to eternal loss: complete separation from God. Anyone who is a slave of sin, no matter how meticulous or how good he is, when it is time to pay their wages, sin will pay through death. This class of people will experience the rider of the pale horse.

             

The Broad way to hell!

·         Many are walking on the highway of life and do not have a clue of what is going on with them and eventually drop dead and go to hell.

·         But if you are in Jesus Christ, you will also live with Him.

ü  Lord, confirm my death with Christ's on the cross, because I want to live with Him.

ü  Lord, help me when You confirm my death on the cross, also make me a propagator of the good news. Make me a peace maker as well.

ü  Release the power and unction that will make people take the narrow way.

ü  Help us to depart from the foolishness and things that have occupied us.

ü  Lord, while you have work here for me to do, please preserve my life. Don’t let me be counted among the statistic of the dead.

ü  Luke 21: 36 – Help me to watch and pray always so that I may be accounted worthy to escape. Father, remember me when the trumpet sounds.

The Black Horse Rider

MARANATHA:  Revelation 6:5-6 -  THE BLACK HORSE RIDER

Vs 5: “And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.”

The Rider of the Black Horse Signifies the Economy

The world system economy is under the tactic of the evil one to bring famine, lack, austerity, recession etc. Nothing is happening behind God, because he has given the permission for all these to happen in other to lead the final call of the children of God. Mammon, the god of money will be withdrawn from the earth gradually in order to pave the way for the bigger bondage that “the man of sin” would bring upon the world. The throat of many will be clutched. This is now evident, as money is being withdrawn gradually from all countries, nations, individuals, organizations; and recession biting all over the place. It’s a definite end time plan!

Vs 6: And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

1 Timothy 6: 10; 2 Timothy 3: 1 – 9
God’s means of helping us not to be brought under the power of the rider of the black horse: “Do not love money” The love of money is the root of all evil. Your love for money brings you under the power of mammon.

ü  Thank God for the gift of grace.
ü  We are servants of God to serve God and not money. We cannot serve two masters.
ü  Lord, dethrone mammon from my life. If ever he sat on the throne of my life, just like you went to the temple and throw him out, O lord, throw him out completely. It is money that will serve me; it is not me, a disciple of Jesus that will serve money.
ü  Loosen the grip of money over my life. Make me a specimen of one who passed through this world and yet is not tainted by its economy.
ü  Deliver us in all the ways we have brought ourselves under the dominion and domination of money in our blindness, in the days of our flesh.
ü  We are people made for Your glory. Lord, You brought us aside in order to incubate our lives so that we can be of use to You, to affect others. Help us.

Matthew 22:15-22; 1 Timothy 6: 6 – 8

The weapon that will defeat the rider of the black horse in our life is when we render unto God that which belongs to God. Our heart belongs to God. 

ü  Lord take my heart unto yourself. I am giving it up to you. Give me contentment in godliness.
ü  Vs 8. Lord, I want to hand over my heart to you. Keep it with you, O Lord. Don’t let my heart wander into the enclaves of mammon anymore.
ü  Don’t let the love of money find space in my heart O Lord. Deliver me now. If I have brought myself under that bondage, deliver me now from all debt I have incurred in my life. Deliver me from all the foolishness I brought myself into, under the power of money.
ü  Father, give me contentment. Make me contented with the things you have given me. What I don’t have, I don’t spend.
ü  Help me from now to live within my means.
ü  Lord, have mercy upon us, for your grace has come unto us, through the power of your word.
ü  Lord, I receive godliness with contentment. Let Jesus’ contentment begin to push through me now.

A life of sacrifice that is ready to release will not be brought under the power of the Antichrist.

 To cry Maranatha:

ü  Let it be my life that is crying Maranatha, not my lips alone.

ü  Help my heart to be encouraged and knit together with strong ties of love.

ü  Let it dawn on me that if indeed I am born of His Spirit, I am of the stock of Christ in the new creation race.

ü  Establish me inside Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

ü  Grant that I would attain all riches of the full assurance of understanding of the mystery of God and of Christ.

ü  Bring to my life, a rich experience of knowing Christ with real certainty and clear understanding, that I may have a foretaste of Your glory.

ü  Help me to yield submission ONLY to the truth of the FULL GOSPEL – that it might continue with me.

ü  Let my submission to Your will be joyful and perfect – no agitation, no tension, no resistance.

ü  Envision me with personal revelations of my blessed hope of rapture.

ü  By Your mercy, let my anchor of hope hold firmly every day, so that on that Day, I will be among those who are changed.

ü  As signs of the end happen, help me to look up and not around, knowing that my redemption is near.

ü  Grant me grace to ‘watch’ – to be alert, vigilant, prepared, observant and eager as I wait for your coming. Make me serious and watchful in prayers because I do not know when it will be.

ü  Help me to know that oil for my lamp comes from you as I allow You to live Your righteous, obedient, submissive and holy life in me.

ü   Keep my lamp burning with the fire of the Holy Spirit so that I will open to you immediately when You knock.
