The elder brother
syndrome| Luke 15:28-30
• He
was angry, presumptuous, arrogant, proud, an inflated sense of his own
importance in the house.
• He
was full of criticism, blaming, accusing, imputing, pointing accusing fingers
at his brother.
• He
was self-righteous, obnoxious, insufferable and intolerable.
• He
thought he was blameless, without any sin, faultless, irreproachable.
• He
thought he deserved and had earned his place and position in the Father's house.
• He
thought he had worked hard as a good son, hence his Father must bless him and
he must be the only one that will inherit the kingdom now.
• He
does not realise that the he is enjoying the goodness, magnanimity, the
benevolence, the compassion, the kindness, the love of the Father.
• He
thought he had jurisdiction over the Father's love.
• He
thought he was a custodian of the Father’s love.
• He
is also a prodigal; he stood outside the house accusing the Father.

• JUST
TO NAME A FEW. How about you? How about me? Are we basking, living,
breathing and having our being in the love of the Father?
• He
who makes the rain to shine upon the just and the unjust.
• He
is kind, loving, tender, caring, benevolent, gentle, kind-hearted and generous.
The Father proclaims
His name before you today.
Exodus 34:5-8
And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood
with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed
by before him, and proclaimed:
The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and
gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth. Keeping mercy for
thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no
means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children,
and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth,
and worshipped.
Prayer points| Let us fall down before our Father
• Let
us begin to worship Him, our Father, our Daddy, our God.
• Let
us fall down before Him adoration, let us worship at His feet.
• Our
Father, merciful, gracious, and compassionate God.
• Slow
to anger, rich in in steadfast love and truth.
• Endlessly
patient, loyal in love for a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity,
rebellion, and sin.
• He
never bears a grudge, neither does He remain angry forever.
• Of
His fullness we have received and enjoyed, grace for grace.
• He
will by no means clear the guilty, yet He made a way to do so through the death
of His son.
• Go
ahead this morning, this afternoon, this evening or whenever and wherever you
are hearing this from and begin to bless Him.
Prayer points | Lord have mercy on me | Romans 2:1-6
Are you an elder prodigal, you have you been around
the Father for a long time and yet have not entered into the house through the
way of the cross?
• I
come to the cross, I give you my heart, tear out of my flesh the heart of the
elder brother, give me a new heart.
• I
ask for the miracle of heart transplant this day, Lord, have mercy on me.
• Cry
out to the Father now and tell Him, Lord forgive me, I am ready to come into
the house.
Have you come to the cross and yet you can still see
the evidence of the elder brother syndrome in your life?
• Rid
me of any trace of the elder brother syndrome; deliver me from the spirit of
the elder brother.
• Lord,
dig out every form of critical, judgemental, self-righteous spirit that is
still lurking in my life.
• It
is a deposit of the old man, repent from them today, now is the day for
repentance.
• Uproot
every form of presumption about my status with the Father.
• Lord,
evacuate any form of insurrection and disobedience that will not accept
correction quickly and quietly from our disicplers, from the Lord and others in
authority over me.
Lord, pour a spirit
of repentance upon our elder prodigals
Luke 15:21 (KJV)
And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned
against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
Prayer points
• Lord,
please baptise our elder prodigals with the spirit of repentance.
• Let
them begin to mourn, to weep, to cry out in repentance before you.
• Send
Your word in the power of the Holy Spirit to them to bring about repentance.
• Holy
Spirit, please remind them of the Word of God that they have received in years
past.
• Let
this deposit of the Word of God spring to life in their hearts and bring about
a definite depth of repentance that will propel them back home to the Father.
Lord, bring all our
elder prodigals to their senses
Luke 15:17a (KJV;MSG;TLB)
And when he came to himself; That brought him to his
senses; When he finally came to his senses.
Prayer points
• Lord,
orchestrate circumstances that will bring our elder prodigals back to their
senses.
• Lord,
please arrange situations into the life of our elder prodigals that will bring
our prodigals back to their senses.
What is the sense? Smell, taste, touch, thinking,
emotions, will, sight, intelligence, thinking, intellect, aptitude, ability,
feeling, skill, talent, gift.
• Lord,
please release the senses of our elder prodigals from the clutch of the enemy.
• Lord,
please release the senses of our elder prodigals from the clutch of the world
system.
• Lord,
please release the senses of our elder prodigals from Mr flesh, me, I, myself.
