Isaiah 60:22 (KJV) "A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time."
Isaiah 60:22 (KJV) "A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time."
Zechariah 4:6 (KJV) "Then he answered and spake
unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto
Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith
the Lord of hosts."
- What the Lord is bringing to mind as I meditate on the above Scriptures which has been written and spoken is that for this to manifest in my life / our lives this year, in years to come as we wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have to seek, find and know what has been written and spoken about us from the Scriptures.
To
give this context, let us read about some lives in the Scriptures who did this.
- John the Baptist, after searching the Scriptures in John 1:22-23: "Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord." This was said by the prophet Esaias. This we can find in Isaiah 40:3.
- Mary the mother of Jesus, after searching the Scriptures said, "Be it unto me according to Your Word." Matthew 1:18-25 (KJV) states: "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." This we can find in Isaiah 7:14.
- Jesus Christ, in Matthew 2:3-6. "When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel." This can be found in Micah 5:2.
- Jesus Christ, in Luke 4:14-22. "And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears." This can be found in Isaiah 61:1-3.
- Jesus Christ, in Matthew 26:24 after searching the Scriptures, He said, "The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born."
God’s counsel to Joshua: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy
mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all
that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success." Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
The
secret of our success this year for a little one to become a thousand and a small one a strong nation while we wait for the Lord’s coming is to search out what has been written and spoken about us from the Scriptures and follow
it.
When
we begin to search the Scriptures, we will find that all those who fulfilled
their destiny went according to what had been written and spoken about
them.
Those who were sent to assist / help them also followed how it should be done according to what was written and spoken. An example is Joseph during Mary's conception, the journey through the birth and the places they visited until the presentation of Jesus Christ in the
temple. All were done according to what had been written and spoken about
Jesus in the Scriptures.
God’s counsel to us as we wait for His
coming: Maranatha!
Acts 17:1-4, 10-12 (ERV)
Verse 1 Paul and Silas travelled
through the cities of Amphipolis and Apollonia. They came to the city of
Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue. 2 Paul went
into the synagogue to see the
Jews as he always did. The next three weeks, on each Sabbath day, he discussed the
Scriptures with them. 3 He explained the
Scriptures to show them that the Messiah had to die and then rise from death. He said, “This Jesus that I am telling you about is the
Messiah.” 4 Some of the Jews there
believed Paul and Silas and decided to
join them. Also, a large
number of Greeks who were worshipers of the true God and many
important women joined them.
Verse 10 That same night
the believers sent Paul and Silas to another city named Berea. When they
arrived there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. 11 The people in
Berea were more
open-minded than those in
Thessalonica. They were
so glad to hear the message Paul told them. They studied the Scriptures every day to make sure that what they heard
was really true. 12 The result was that many of them believed, including many important Greek women and men.
- As we begin to discover that which has been spoken and written about us; we should have an open mind to receive it and not forsake the gathering of the worshipers of the true God where the message of the cross is preached day and night.
- Study, discuss and explain the Scriptures every day to make sure that what we are hearing is according to what has been written in the Scriptures.
- Meditate on that which has been spoken and written about us day and night; then will our ways be made prosperous and we will have good success.
Now that we have received the counsel of God:
- We want to ask the Holy Spirit to help bring this to pass in our lives this New Year and years to come.
- We want our morning to begin and our day to dawn.
- We want to ask the Light of Jesus in us to
come forth and breakthrough any darkness hanging around and waiting to
obstruct this from happening to us in Jesus' name.
